 WEDNESDAY ADULT PRAYER MEETING "I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks be made for all men...I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (I Tim. 2:1,8).  The
Lord Jesus desires that His church should be, among other things,
a house of prayer. For this reason, in addition to our public prayers
on the Lord's Day, we devote the bulk of our mid-week meetings to
prayer. Our seasons of prayer are generally ordered according to the
acrostic "A.C.T.S.": Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving,
and Supplication. These times of prayer are punctuated with brief
devotionals from the Word of God and the singing of psalms and hymns
to the Lord. It has proven to be a great source of joy and edification
to join our hearts together and approach the throne of grace, and
to hear God's people pray. |
