LORD'S DAY WORSHIP
"The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also the Lord of the Sabbath." (Mark 2:27-28)
The centrality of the Lord’s church and the Lord’s Day Sabbath are inseparably joined together.
Nineteenth century pastor J.C. Ryle once wrote: “Scripture, history, and experience all combine to teach us that delight in the Lord’s Word, the Lord’s service, the Lord’s people and the Lord’s Day, will always go together.” Our Lord’s Day worship is the central hub of our church’s life and ministries. It is our desire and prayer that the Lord will raise up a generation of men who habitually delight each week in the Lord of the Sabbath, and who faithfully lead their families to do the same.
It has been said that our worship ought to be a mirror into which God can look and see Himself reflected back. To this end we seek to order our weekly Lord’s Day worship in accordance with the sufficiency of God’s Word, and to reject the strange and profane fire of men’s imaginations and traditions. Accordingly, our worship of God is centered around the reading, preaching, and hearing of Holy Scripture. We devote significant time to congregational prayer and to the singing of God’s praises in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with the use of the Trinity Psalter and the Trinity Hymnal. It is also our normal practice to observe the Lord's Supper on a weekly basis
during morning worship. It is our desire that our worship will delight the heart of our great God as we offer ourselves to Him through the blood and righteousness of His Son. May the statement of the Apostle John be our experience as well: “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.” (Revelation 1:10a)
