 The Lord Jesus Christ alone is the Head of His church, He is her Chief Shepherd and Overseer. Yet in His Holy Word God has ordained that each local church is to be shepherded and overseen by a plural body of Biblically-qualified men known as elders who rule with mutual authority over the flock and who walk in mutual submission to one another. You may learn about our individual elders and how to contact them via email by clicking on their names below: Pastor Patrick Pherson pmtw@integrity.com Patrick Pherson was raised in a Christian home, and at the age of twelve, became a Christian. He followed the Lord during his high school and college years. At the age of twenty-five, God did a work of revival in Patrick's life which led him to pursue  Biblical
studies. After completing his master's degree in environmental engineering,
he attended Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, SC, getting a
certificate in Bible. He married his wife Marye in 1990, and they
have two sons, Timothy and Wesley. Their family served as missionaries
in Ethiopia from 1994-1997. Currently Patrick serves as a water engineer
in Cobb County where he lives. He has been actively involved at Berean
Baptist Church since its beginning in 2003, and became an elder in
2007. As head of a homeschool family, Patrick invests much time in
adventures and training opportunities with his sons and wife. Pastor Jerry Slate, Jr. pastorslate@integrity.com Jerry Carl Slate, Jr. was born into a godly Christian home, the youngest of three children. By the Sovereign grace of God he was converted to Christ on December 1, 1977 at the  age
of 8. He graduated in 1991 from Columbia Bible College (now Columbia
International University) in Columbia, SC. He has a B.A. degree, having
majored in Bible and minored in pastoral ministry. Since January of
1993 he has been married to his wife, Angela, and together they have
four children: Samuel, Luke, Graceann, and Jackson. Pastor Jerry founded
Berean Baptist Church in February of 2003 and is currently a teaching
elder there. His interests include spending time with his family,
reading, and camping. |
